Is it possible for keywords to end with a period ("."). I cannot force such keywords to be highlighted, I don't know why.

Well, and is it possible to make the space (" ") a part of a keyword? When I define a keyword like this: "<Keyword text="bq. "/> and Words are defined like this "<Words>!-~_</Words>", HE accepts "bq.\n" (but not "bq.x" e.g.). When Words are defined as "<Words> -~_</Words>", none of "bq.x", "bq. " and "bq.\n" is recognized.

Please provide an example. Both schema + source code.
Generally it should not work. Space in keywords is accepted only because of the multi word keywords. And this is special case have nothing to do with Words. When you place space into words - it is a mistake of you. Because now no any single keyword will work, if it ends with space.
