Is there any option to set the side on which the WordWrap glyphs appear?

No. There is none. And this is also not planned.
Word wrap indicators can only be shown on the right side.
Is there any reason to have this like on the left side except of that is done in such way in some other editor (maybe Scintilla based)?

Huh? Sometimes they _ARE_ shown on the left side.

I prefer them on the left side since this is how I can see immediately that a line is word wrapped.

Smiley I was surprised. But, yes, you are right this exist Smiley
That was one experiment in optimizing of the space...

You need to disable visual glyphs for syntax, than wrap indicators will be drawn on line numbers bar, if it is shown.
Check Tools->Options->Syntax Settings->{your syntax}->Word Wrap->Show visual glyphs for word wrap.
