Currently the setting in HE that controls whether tabs are hard tabs or converted to spaces resides within the Formatting options panel.  If I want to create a Makefile syntax configuation for HE, I need to be able to override the tab settings since Makefiles require the use of hard tabs.  Currently for my regular development, I have the hard tabs disabled (converted to spaces) which means I can't easily edit Makefiles from within HE without changing the global formatting options controlling the tabs.. Would it be possible to move the tab features from a global setting to a per syntax setting that each file syntax can control specifically?  Thanks!

Yes, I have such request already. In addition to moving to syntax settings, it was requested to have project based setting...
I will try to add this in 1.50 (no go for 1.49 correction), but I already can imagine possible problems with migration from old way to new...
