Store S&R as part of the syntax, just like tools
« on: November 24, 2010, 12:28:08 pm »
Feature request:
The Search-Replace offers a 'Favorites' and it is a very useful feature. Some I use very frequently and it would be nice if these could be defined (just as you can store Tools) as part of the syntax files. So my search and replace "Strip all syntax from <TD> & <TR>" would be available from the menu and toolbar if I have a HTML-file loaded.

that would be  ;D

Hi GJK,

Yes, I find this idea interesting and useful :) And I already got such request (was searching in forum, but was mail request).
My answer was that I can add new "entity" for such stored searches (with menu entries, shortcuts etc), but right way probably will be to use macros from 1.50. Macros will have ability to get shortcut assigned and be placed in menu also. And they can serialize any command (search with parameters also). In this way you will start recording, execute search you want, stop macro and save it, assign shortcut, icon put in menu and later reuse. The result will be the same, but will be one entity less ;)

Best regards,
Alex.

I bet you know best how to implement this. If it is going to be as a recorded macro I assume that it will be possible to store a sequence of S&R-s in one macro as well!

Thanks for the work-   G
