Hex color value selections, file explorer features
« on: March 02, 2012, 12:13:01 AM »
Hi,

I have a few feature suggestions/improvements:

1. When double-clicking on a hex color value, omit "#" from selection. A small but important thing when editing CSS files :)
Now, doubleclicking "#444444" selects <#444444>, should select  <444444> only.

2. In File Explorer window, the file type filter dropdown should default to "All supported file types"

3. In File Explorer window, the selected folder should be expanded automatically

4. When right-clicking on a file tab, there are many useful features already (Copy full path, Open Containing folder etc). There should also be option to "Locate file in the File Explorer".
This would then open the file explorer window, and bring the parent folder of the file into focus. Of course, this would be shown only to saved files.

Now, doubleclicking "#444444" selects <#444444>, should select  <444444> only.
This can be achieved by removing # from WordChars in css_spec.xml
Code: XML
  1. <Words>0-9A-Za-z_--#</Words>
.
I am afraid to do such changes in default schema, because if people used to current behavior, such change can annoy them very much.
But you can do this on your copy.

.
I do not think this is critical, because this setting is persisted, so if user has changed it to "All supported file types" after restart this setting will be restored. So matter only for initial startup. I have noted that, maybe will change in 1.50.

3. In File Explorer window, the selected folder should be expanded automatically
Tools->Options->Plugins->File Explorer->Folders->Follow active document. Or just type this in search field.

File Explorer toolbar -> Synchronize.

Best regards,
Alex.
