A couple of bugs on 2.0.33

Hi,

When I do CTRL+F and start typing, the search dialog immediately closes, searching only for that one single character that I typed. This happened in 2.0.20 and still happens in 2.0.33, it works fine in HE 1.6.

Also, whenever I launch the program I am always told that there's a new English UK dictionary and if I want to download it. I say yes, but nothing happens - next time I am asked again.

Hi Miguel,

sorry for the delay with response.

The problem with closing dialog caused by the fact, that in 2.0 HE uses incremental search, which already starts searching when you type a search term in What field and Close when Finished option you have set in Result Options of search. I will fix that in next alpha update, but till then you can just remove "Close when Finished" flag.

The issue with English dictionary is more problematic... I have seen it once by one user but was not able to reproduce. Can you please send me your %APPDATA%\HippoEDIT and do a screenshot of the dialog, when it happens. Also please do me screenshots of installed keyboard layouts (language menu). Based on installed keyboard layouts HE searches for passing dictionaries. And probably, there is a mismatch in locales with requested and installed dictionaries.

You can find the popup in attach - it pops up every time I launch HE 2.

You are right, I have an atypical setup: my keyboard in Portuguese, but I have my Win 10 language set up as English (second attach). I actually have another regional setting (which is "pure" Portuguese) that however I don't really use (third attach).

BTW, unticking the "close when finished" did the trick regarding the other problem - thanks!

have tried similar setup to yours (also with English for UK and Portuguese keyboard) but I did not get a popup second time... Have you accepted popup or not?
Can you send me your %APPDATA\HippoEDIT I will check what was installed?

Hi again,

I have tried both saying Yes and No on different occasions. It doesn't seem to make a difference - I get the question next time, very frequently (but it seems not ALWAYS). It may be related or not, but I actually have HE 1.6 and 2.0 installed side-by-side.

I'll email you a couple of APPDATA zips taken at slightly different times (please PM me with your email address - attachment is too big for forum and PMs don't allow attachments). Thanks!

Hi Miguel,

just use menu Help -> Report Bug ... button. The mail will find its way
Probably %APPDATA%\HippoEDIT will be enough, but I would like to know which plugins your are using, maybe they cause the issue (but honestly I doubt).
Maybe start first with %APPDATA%\HippoEDIT -> .zip and we will see. I also have both versions installed in parallel, so this is probably not a reason.
