Hi!

I'm here new.
I got HippoEdit license by giveaway and I'm much more than satisfied, even surprised...

I tried to open some syntaxes, but never successfully. And wanted to add any plugin. No success.
I want to use some syntaxes which I found for Notepad++ or plugins for it to use in HippoEdit.
How to do it?

Other question is about PDF files. HippoEdit allows to open them in text format, is possible to open PDF files also in their native format - like viewing PDF?
Why: I'm using text and http view at once in the same window. It is perfect to have resources always accessible, I want to do anything like this with PDF too.
How to do it? If is it possible...

My previous text editor was Notepad3 and it has function sticky window position which allows open Notepad3 in the same position and size. Is it possible  also in HippoEdit?

Thank you for all.

Hello Miro,

GAOTD version has several restrictions that are not allowing you to install extensions, while some extensions require a specific version of the executable, and may be not compatible with your, not upgradable GAOTD version. But syntax bundles and script-based plugins in most cases are supported. You need to select and install them from the web site: https://hippoedit.com/syntax_files.php?lang=en

Syntaxes and plugins from Notepad++ are not supported.

PDF files can be viewed only in HippoEDIT 2.0, which is in beta and can be found on the forum. But the GAOTD license does not work here.

HippoEDIT stores window position and size from the previous session and can restore it. This works automatically. If you want to use the same window position and size on each start, and do not want that your modified positions are persisted between sessions, you can do the following:
- Open HippoEDIT
- set position you need
- restart the HippoEDIT
- go to File -> Workspace -> Properties and uncheck
-- Remember [X] Main Window Position and State

Ok, thank you for explaining.

I think I will wait until 2.0 Beta will be released and then upgrade to standard license.

Notepad++ syntaxes are not supported - is any editor from which is possible to import?

Thank you very much.

Hello Miro,

you can use this plugin for importing syntaxes from UltraEdit, PSPad and TextEdit:
https://wiki.hippoedit.com/plugins/syntax-tools

But most probably you will need to update the syntax after importing.

I installed it by clicking on plugin, but I have own folder with HippoEdit - attempts it to install plugin into default location?
I tried to import and it shows dialog. Then it shows plugin file opened - and I don't know what to do.

I used Syntax > Import Ultraedit syntax.
How to do it?

Sorry, Miro, I do not understand you question and issue.
If you have installed the plugin and see Syntax -> Import UltraEdit syntax ... (if you see it was installed) then follow the instructions and description on the wiki.
