What did I do wrong?

1. Other than reinstalling, is there a way to reset it back to default?

2. Is there a way to disable it from bringing up the menu if you hold the Ctl down for a while. Not only is it annoying but I think it got me into my present predicament, which is:

3. When I try to "delete", I can only delete one letter at a time. It won't delete a highlighted section and in fact, the whole highlighted section can't be replaced or deleted or overwritten unless I use a Ctl-X. This all happened after I held Ctl down long enough for the menu to come up and then I "hit" some key in that menu and now I'm screwed. Any ideas?

Well, I stumbled on to how to fix the problem but I'm not sure how I got there or how to avoid it. The problem is under Edit->Selection->Lock, which had a check mark next to it. Now, how do I disable the Ctl key from bringing up that menu so this won't happen again? This isn't the first time that it's done something goofy to me but I've been able to do Ctl-Z to undo the other stuff but that didn't fix the problem.

Hi edgy,

1) start hippoedit.exe with command line line parameter --init : "hippoedit.exe --init"
2) http://forum.hippoedit.com/index.php/topic,144.msg507.html#msg507
3) Good that you have found the problem with Selection Lock, otherwise it will take me a long time to get what went on your side wrong :). Settings changes are not undo-able, so Ctrl+Z will not help.

Best regards,
Alex.
