Please see the screenshot. Nothing I do seems to help.

Thanks,

Hi Stuart,

from which version you have updated? have you tried some plugins/scripts (maybe disabled standard), or this is clean installation?

I have not seen such problem yet,  and it was never reported, so should be something specials...
I can try to reproduce it with your settings, by doubt that will work...

Have you taken full install? Have you tries 64 bit installation or non-unicode (to see if it is at all works).

Gosh! I see others have already reported this nuance. I have my toolbar looking identically.

alex

Hi Arthur,

can you please answer same questions I asked Stuart ?
While I am not able to reproduce it, I would like to find a way do so, to fix a bug.

I upgraded from whatever non-beta last build was, simply don't remember the version. It is a full insatll this time on a 32 Bit Win7 pro.
I do not know what "have you tried some plugins/scripts" means.

Probably I am not helping too much.

alex

:) - yes.

Install plugin /script mean you have checked something in Tools->Options->Plugins or have executes the script some when (it can stay in memory even after restart, so script plugin working). In such cases, you can get new images in image list of editor, which maybe destroy it (because of size of whatever).

Nevertheless, is this effect stable, so mean appears even after restarting oh HE?

You should be sure that you have selected FULL install, because after change in installer i did last beta, it by default has Custom selected.
You can try full uninstall - reinstall.

Hi Alex,

even without ding anything now when I am in HE session I do not have this issue.

Curious under what circumstances that would occur?

alex

If I know, I would fix it already :)
Maybe some other bug during loading, which happens only for session after update...

I updated HE a while ago and remarkably, the issue did not manifest itself until before yesterday, now after I restarted my Win 7 Pro 32 Bit OS machine the second time the issue persists  :o.

alex

I have also seen this once, but after editor restart all was fine...
I assume there is some problem, maybe with synchronization (all images now loaded asynchronously, to speed up startup), when images are loaded, which leads to corruption of the global image list... The funny thing, that not all images are missing, but only some, and all dropdowns are shown.

So, Arthur, currently have no clue, what is is and how to fix. We need to wait for reproducible scenario...
Maybe what will help, if you will disable scripting plugin (you say, you use ZenCoding), restart, and enable it once more. Maybe this will change something...

Arthur

The whole online plugin feature is off. So it must be tied to how busy the machine is when loading HE.

alex

The online functionality has nothing to do with it. Plugins are also registering icons in global list. So, you need to check which plugins are enabled and try to disable some of them. Maybe.

I feel that I am dreaming. I started HE and it crashed, I sent the error report out. Then next time HE started fine. Then I checked for updates and got a message that a newer version of HE is available... well, but I already installed it  :-X

The toolbar has icons.

So right now I get in Help -> About 1.50.778 and if I check for new version it says 783 is available. I am going to install it err ... again  ::)

Arthur

So, after I took this update and started HE no icons appeared. Closed, restarted, and they did.

Zencoding plugin is not installed.

alex

I think I had a same experience with last beta (783), thought it is only by me. This was a single time I got it. After restart everything worked fine.
Got your crash reports, will check later.
