Well, may be it is not a bug, but I have been unable to figure out why Window -> Maximize has no effect on open file window.

Example: do Window -> Cascade then Window -> Maximize. No effect other than it is hiding my Project Explorer.

Arthur

oh, BTW I noticed, if I use the file's itself max button it maximizes the rest of them.

Sorry Arthur, That IS the indented effect,... - hide the side panels and maximize the document window to the left.

Long story short, it's not "maximize" in the standard windows sense -- it doesn't trigger the "maximize" next to the close button in the window.

Personally, I think the "maximize" menu option should be renamed -- it shouldn't have standard windows convention name unless it performs the standard action.  Then add an actual "maximize" menu option :)

Arthur

Thank you Stefan & Allen, you have clarified the functionality to the retarded me ;)

alex

I would publish today beta with correct maximize inlcuded.
But would leave the old command in menu until somebody would help in finding new name for it :)
Then I can also add standard Windows Maximize.

First thing I thought of, with enlarge, was "spam" . . . :)

How about expand? Or you could go with a more verbose (and more descriptive) label -- "Hide all panes" or "Fit Editor to workspace"

alex

Hi Allen,

maybe expand is ok. The  "Hide all panes" or "Fit Editor to workspace" do not work because this command is also used to maximize side panels. So name should be same.

BTW: I have uploaded new beta with window functions you have asked:
http://www.hippoedit.com/download/hippou143.exe
you can try it.

I would update history soon.

Thanks, just installed it. I'll wait for the changes list, I can't find the difference ;)

Interestingly, I installed it and let it launch itself after install--it launched with all program defaults. My recent file list gone, everything factory default.  I exited it, started it again and everything was the way I configured it. Strange.

alex

Here is 1. 43 change list.

Probably you have used different workspaces. If not this is a bug, but then I need clear description how to reproduce it. I have also tested it, and in my case noteiced no problems.

Got 1.43.652 Where did the wording suppose to change?

alex

It is not changed yet as I wrote.
We have talked about Maximize command in Windows menu as it is now.
Than if correct name would be found, I can place standard Maximize command instead of current renamed one.
