Setting to combine multiple icons on taskbar to one icon only?

Hello

This is my first message in this forum. I really like HippoEdit, but I have beginners question.

Is there setting somewhere in HE, that HE should use only one icon on taskbar despite there is multiple documents open. TextPad and PSPad work that way, for example. AFAIK Windows 10 grouping/combining settings do not have any effect. There is little effect when disabling grouping but still there is individual tabs previews on HE icon on taskbar.

I have used to use programs that way that I activate it via taskbar and in that program select tab I need (if it not already active. With HE I have to always select some document on taskbar, it is quite frustrating sometimes.

Sorry if there is settings for that, I just cannot find it. :-(

PS. I hope that I have option to change background color of active document tab. 2003 theme is a little bit better. I have read that no new themes will be added, but how about some change set active tab for better separation. But this is little thing, not so annoying that icon per document -problem.

Hello jaka,

I think your question is about Windows Thumbnails for Document Tabs.
There is no setting for it in UI, but there is an XML flag controlling that:

There are also set of other advanced options, you can control only via XML flags. See the wiki.

Actually, the current tab is highlighted in XP them, by emphasizing the tab font and color, but that is only about tab text. The background is not changing. Doing changes in this area is rather difficult, while you need to design how it would like in both themes, how to combine it with an ability to set the different font color for tabs (using syntax color) etc. So, I think for a current moment I would delay this request.
