I had New Project button on the toolbar enabled. Clicked on it and it became grayed out without any other action happening.
After that I do not see any new projects created and no files in any project, additionally, this button now remains inactive no matter what file I am on (I am on beta 703).
I am kind of confused now about what is going on. I expected to be more in control of what HE does.
Any comments?

Hi Arthur,

whole control is in your hands :)

The New Project creates for you new project as you want. New project has so called initial state (non modified, has no name, has no files). If project is still initial, New Project button would be disabled, because you could not notice result of it - it is equal to what you have. Probably only new project name would be taken.

As about creating of the new project without asking you about something: HE would only ask if project is unsaved. Otherwise why?

Best regards,
Alex.

So where do I find it and how do I remove/add files to it?

alex

?

new project replaces your existing open project... So old one is closed, new one is created. Then you can or remove files from this new project...

I do not see any projects and/or files (at least no change from before)

Untitled.heprj that you see in the Project Explorer is new project.
You would not see any changes, because your current open project is initial and empty. Add some files to it and repeat action.
New Project does not add sub projects it just close opened project and creates new one instead.
I thought about such idea that you can include other projects in the project, but this is only planned.
