I am running HE on Vista 32-bit, today I install/reinstall HE several times and still couldn't get it to launch.  In 1.4.9, I got:

Runtime Error!
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

There is a new error info with 1.5 Beta:

Data files ar enot installed for the current user! Work is not possible.
Then follows the same error message.

Hi Sonny,

I assume problems on your side. By me all works fine and I also have not got any similar report from somebody last weeks, but last 1.49 /1.50 versions are out for several weeks already.
Have you tried full uninstall with removing also data files? Is this is new install. Where you are trying to install HE? Have you selected Full type during installation?

Looks like data files are not installed...

alex,

I reinstalled and this time I ask uninstaller to remove all user data.  I don't have a backup of my template and syntax file but removing them helps.  This means my data or templates some how prevent HE new version to launch.  I think it would be better if there is a debug option to send you log.

Problem is not in templates or syntax files, normally. Generally you can copy the settings before full uninstall, so you will not lose it.
It can be license.dat. This file controls location of the data storage (and also has your license data). HE does not allow to change user data location in update, and this is checked with help of existing license.dat. I thought you had permissions problem, because you had your user data folder in location to which HE do not have rights even to read (Program Files). After full uninstall, license.dat is removed, and you have ability to change user data location, or if you do nothing it installs in Current User folder, from which HE can read.

Let us see if others have similar problem.
