If the Project Explorer is set to auto-hide (pic below showing the before max click position) and one clicks on the maximize button (the square one at the top right corner of the File tabs) the project explorer will not come up upon moving the mouse to the area where it is hiding.

???

Great :D    good find.  I will use this from now on.

Hi Arthur,

I think this is indented, because it's logically: IF document window is maximized THEN side panels are hidden.
Just click the restore button on the file tabs window and auto-hide works again.

Hello Arthur,

this is designed like this, as Stefan wrote already.

Normally this modes would not be used together: if you have panes in auto-hidden state, maximizing of document has not sense. You would not get much more space.

Alex.
