What does "Arrange Icons" do found in Window menu?

I have experimented a few times finding it has no effect whatsoever.

This is an standard component of MDI applications.

- have more then one doc open
- tile or cascade windows
- minimize an window
- move the icon of this minimized windows a bit away from the bottom line
- use  "Arrange Icons"  to clean up again  (all icons are back at bottom line)

or
- minimize some more windows
- double click an  icon  in the middle between other icons to open them
- use  "Arrange Icons"  to clean up again (the icons are moved together without space)

Note the help description in status line   ( this is german for me, btw Alex)

That feature make only sense with many minimized documents.

BTW: Alex, this menu item should be only active (useable) if any window is minimized.

Here an other description:
The Arrange Icons command can be used to neatly position minimized windows icons at the bottom of the client area.
When several windows have been minimized, and some are later restored to normal size,
the display of the remaining minimized windows can become untidy.
The Arrange Icons command is useful in this situation.

Hi Stefan,

QuoteBTW: Alex, this menu item should be only active (useable) if any window is minimized.
Thanks. I would correct this.
Checked. It would be too much effort to check all windows for their state. So I would only disable it if documents are used in maximized mode.

Best regards,
Alex
