Can't figure out wrapping?

Hi, I just started using this program yesterday.  I've done all I could to set wrapping to "Window Edge".  I set it in the default options, the plain text options, the text options, everywhere I could find.  Yet, when I turn on wrapping, it always wraps at around 50 characters and not at the window edge.  in fact, there's like half the screen empty on the right because it's wrapping so early.  Why aren't my settings being applied?

Hello Superboyac,

could you share an image of the issue you are experiencing please?

Stefan

Hi superboyac, welcome to the community, great to have you here :D

Please note that you can fine tune such settings the way you like in HippoEDIT at several levels.
In "Tools > Options... > Syntax Settings" there are four levels of "granulation":
1.) All Syntaxes
2.) Default
3.) Default Source or Default text for the two main lines of syntax settings
4.) the syntax for the file type in question (here Plain Text)

So i guess you have played around in "All Syntaxes" hive too? :D
Hope i guess right?

If you be curious read this too >>> Syntax: What means All, Default, Default source, Text etc

Guys - thanks for help.

I think the reason is a font. HippoEDIT "officially" supports only mono-spaced fonts right now (because of the column selection and faster coordinate calculation).
If not a monospaced font selected (as Tahoma) for example, than you can get such effect.
Or maybe some mixture of settings for Word Wrap as Stefan mentioned.

Best regards,
Alex.

Ah!  Alex is right.  i've changed the font to Calibri because I like it.  I'll have to find a favorite monospace font and use that instead.  Well...I'm sure it's on your list, but please add support for other fonts.  Thanks!

alex

Yes, this is in the list. Support for block selection for non-monospaced font will not work really (it will be or no rectangular or not column mode :) ) nut problems with coordinates calculation can be fixed.
About the fonts, check this post: http://forum.hippoedit.com/?/topic,17.0.html
