editor font specific to each file type

First of thanks for HE. Very cleanly designed UI. I have a question. Is there a way we can set font of editor based on the file extension?. Usually I would like to open all .nfo files in fixed system font.

You could not set font based on file extension, but you can set it based on syntax schema.
So basically, you need to copy/inherit Plain Text schema (txt_spec.xml) to new schema, rename id to something like nfo and than modify file extension used, or directly in schema or withing UI in Miscellaneous part of syntax settings.
And font can than changed in Font and Colors page.
