I do not save or sore CAL at all. It is calculated dynamically based on modified/saved indicators of the lines.
When user need to see the list I merge ranges and display them in the list. This explains complete behavior.
Because these indicators are not saved between HE start/closes (sessions), CAL is also can not be saved.
From another side there is also no limit on number of such areas. And as far as I remember, they displayed sorted not by time of change but by position in document.
