Syntax Settings Usability

Sounds complicated and many work.
I thought you could just try to open index.htm / start.htm or like this of the current loaded CHM
because it's compiled into the CHM what's the page to show as index.

EDIT:
but that we get only an little of the features an CHM provides (like search)...  and therefore to much work..for little effort.
Forget this idea please... i will simple open my help CHMs external with all features the CHMs provide me.
(And wait till you provide all CHM tab with internal browser... i like the idea of CHM inside an HE tab)
