I would like to have Favorite Files (menu) in Open Dialog

I am really missing now the Favorites menu after I have accumulated a wealth of "worked on" files, but it is only found inside the file explorer.
Could you also add it to the Open File Dialog?

:o Or better yet make all the icons/commands menu customizable because I am used to re-arrange icons as I deem suitable to me.

I had suggested to >improve the side panel (Explorer/Project)<
to add more, like Snippets/Snipplets, Favorites and History/Recent files.
Maybe this is an solution for you too?

Hi,

the rearangment of the icons in toolbars (and configurable toolbars) and Side panel for Repository - both complex/big things which could not be done in 1.4x.

The simple thing I can do, is to add Favorites folders to Rececnt Folders in File Open/Save dialog, then they would be available there.
Is this is an option?

Some more changes in File Open dialog is rather problematic - it is a standard windows dialog and enhancing it really terrible work. And I am far away from implementing own file open dialog.

Best regards,
Alex.

I prefer to have favorite files rather.

Yeah snippets are very useful, I remember asking for them too.

I propose to have Favorites duplicated then as a new menu item on the toolbar or beside (perhaps at the bottom) of the File->Open command item.

Hello Arthur,

I thought about your request... But could not understand how it would help you.
The folder favorites usually used for changing folder in file explorer.

Why you need it in menu or toolbar?

To use it, you need to have File Explorer open, then you have corresponding button in File Explorer toolbar.
If File Explorer is closed, what should be the purpose of the Favorites Menu?

Only one case I can uderstand is usage inside of File Open dialog.

Best regards,
Alex.

I think we talk about favorite files,..... like File>Open>RecentFiles  .... but static one.
The idea is to have an list of files we use now and then like "File->Open>Favorites"
and an command " Add file to favorite as name..."
{Right, Arthur?}

I had suggest to do this in side panel because we would be able
to sort this favorite file in folders,
sort by name / size / date...
select one or more to open them
or even open all files from such an favorite-folder.

Related to this favorite idea is to store currently open files to an favorite-folder to store current session.
I imagine this commands:
Add all open files to session...  {Dialog to enter name}
Add this file to session... {Dialog to enter name}
{right click on folder} Open all files from this favorite folder (to restore an session)

As work around we can use an Project named "Favorites" to have an list of favorite files.
