Is there a way to get HE to preserve MY indentation level, but not automatically increase the indent level when it feels like it?

Hi allen,

Have you tried to switch off Tools->Options->Formatting->Smart Helpers->Auto-Indent?

Alex.

But then when I hit return it takes me to column 1 every time.  I want it to maintain my indention level, like other editors. If the line I am on starts at column 6 and I hit return, I want the next line to start at column 6.

Hi allen,

generally I can think to do this by default (take indent from previous line), if auto-indent is turned off, but I would like to see the example (code + syntax). Because indentation rules are controlled as by outlining state as by some settings that exist in syntax schema. So maybe you can just solve your problem by modifying the schema and leave Auto-Indent flag On.

I would change default for turned off Auto Indent to take previous line indent next beta.

Best regards,
Alex.
