Not sure if this is by design, but I expected the search to display file names only and it did so it seems only the first time, then a myriad of files opened in HE and also some became edited ::) somehow (.xml, dtd ones for sure).

I used the search as in the accompanying picture.

Hi Arthur,

:) but from another side good the HE has not crashed with such myriad of open files ;)

So...:

- files was open because you have Mark Search Results in Text checked. To mark matches, files hould be open ;) But form another side I am not sure, should this be enabled in Display File Names only mode...
- another thing, I see 1982 occurrences found. Also maybe in this case number of found FILES expected...
- and about modified state. This is result of encoding change after load. I think Stefan (can not find a post now), ask to place change of the encoding to a undo queue, and as a result modified state also should be changed...

Best regards,
Alex.

I think: if i want to see the files names only, i didn't want the other options.
So i mean this would be nifty:
IF checked "Display File Names only" then disable (grey out) and don't use "Result Options"

A> Also maybe in this case number of found FILES expected...
I think: yes, maybe
n occurrences found in n files

I agree with Stefan on disabling the contradicting options (mark search results in text).
Modifying of files should be prohibited in this case (I see this dangerous).

alex

With flags I agree (same rule for Bookmark lines and group results).
Problem with modify of files would not happen - files will not be open if options are disabled.

But if they open, the behavior should be same as with simple Open File.
